My friend Rachel and I decided we were going to be accountability partners. Cleaning accountability partners.
Why?
Because I need motivation to keep my house clean. And I lack the skills to motivate myself.
We decided to enlist our husbands to help (not the brightest idea) and clean for 10 minutes each day. I know ten minutes doesn't seem like much. The "rules" (a term I use VERY vaguely... I suppose I should have said "guidelines" but whatever) are:
1. Set the timer for 10 minutes (unless your husband doesn't think 10 minutes is long enough, in which case the timer is set to 15)
2. Clean, clean, clean until the timer goes off.
With the exception of being sick, I have managed to clean everyday. This is a huge accomplishment for me. Ask Brian's step-mom!
...until last night. I made fried chicken.
After we ate we went to church, scurried home and I was exhausted. So I let the pots and pans just sit. Bad, I know.
So tonight I'll do 20 minutes plus because Rachel, Joe and Kevin are coming over for dinner.
Have I mentioned I lack motivational skills? Company always gives me motivation to clean. Maybe I should invite people over more often.
What's your favorite meal? Maybe I'll invite you to dinner!
