Woo Hoo!

We had a breakthrough at the McGuire house last night. Ethan ate corn! I know this doesn't sound like a big task to accomplish but...it is.

As an infant, Ethan ate everything we put in front of him. He ate every kind of fruit and vegetable Gerber made. Once he acquired a few teeth his taste buds changed. Green beans were the only veggie he would touch. Applesauce was the only item with in the fruit family he'd go near.

Last night I made spaghetti for dinner with some corn, a salad and bread. I told him he had to at least try the corn.

"NO! I don't yike it corn."

To which I replied, "I will count to 3 and if you do not TRY the corn Mommy will make you try it."

I started counting. Somewhere in between 2 and 3 he took a bite. Chewed it up and then VOLUNTARILY put more corn in his mouth.

I did a little dance and told him I was so proud of him. I know that seems a little over the edge but people...the kid needs to branch out!

I think tonight we'll try some peas. And we may even throw in some fruit!

On another Ethan note- we have OFFICIALLY started the potty training process. We've been trying for a while. At some point Ethan decided he was afraid of the potty and refused to sit on it. Now he prefers the big potty and will go if we sit him on it. If we could master the I HAVE TO GO part.
