Happy Birthday, Ethan!

In October we celebrated Ethan's fourth birthday. 4! I can't believe it!

His birthday will almost always fall during Fall Break. This year we went to Alabama during break to visit with Brian's mom, sister, step-dad and his family.
For his birthday party at home we headed to The Pumpkin Patch! We had great weather that day. It was simple and easy- we had a ton of fun!

I didn't think he would actually ride it but he loved it! I think it helped to ride with a pretty girl. He had to act all macho.

I LOVE OCTOBER

October is my favorite month. Here are a few reason why I love October...

• pumpkins
• family trips to The Pumpkin Patch
• cooler weather
• wearing my favorite jeans without sweating
• football games
• Halloween
• Ethan in a costume...and boy do I have a good one this year!
• carnivals
• hay rides
• pumpkin spice lattes from Starbucks
• decorating pumpkins with Ethan
• putting out my scarecrows, hay bales and PUMPKINS!
• hearing Ethan say PUMPKIN
• Birthdays...mine and Ethan's

I could probably go on though I am sure you are tired of reading the word PUMPKIN but pumpkins make me HAPPY.

YAY for October!

So, about Ethan's party. Look like we are going to have 3 separate celebrations. One with my family, one with Brian's dad's family and one with Brian's mom (who is coming for a visit tomorrow morning.)

Which by the way means I will be cleaning frantically this evening. You are always welcome to come help :)

WHEW!

This week has been busy busy busy. Ethan's birthday is creeping up on me. I have done absolutely no planning whatsoever. I'm just hoping he won't remember the pitiful party his mom threw for him when he turned two.

Actually, my grandma and I went to Hobby Lobby yesterday and look what I found...

YES! A Pablo cake pan. So, she bought it for me. I went home and started reading how they frosted the cake. I'm sure you can't tell, so let me enlarge the photo...

Can you see? It is frosted with white icing THEN using a specific star shaped piping tool individual stars cover the cake.

Step 1: Have patience

I am trying to come up with a good way to frost this thing with out spending the entire day. Because really, I do NOT have the patience for that. I mean, I've got a ton of catching up to do with my DVR!

If I do indeed make this cake I'm going to post pictures. For no other reason than to say I DID IT! We'll see.
