EHHHHH!

I dropped my car off at Pep Boys this morning to have the a/c checked. I'm hoping to hear something soon and that it won't cost us our first born.

Brian has been trying to sell his car for about 8 weeks now. It's been in the Auto Trader magazine and online. He has had several calls but no one that actually comes to look at the car. So he decided to post it on Facebook.

The first response was from a woman asking if we would let her just take over payments. Umm...no.

The second response asked the final price we would take and to please email the response to him. Brian did. The next email came last night. He said he would have a third party as the shipper. He would send us a cashier's check if we would cash it the day we receive it. It would be over the amount asked and could we wire the extra money to the shipper. I told Brian I wanted to talk to my boss and see what he thought. He just knows everything.

I started to read the email to Don and he started screaming at me like a gameshow buzzer. EHHHHH! EHHHHHH! IT'S A SCAM! He had just heard on the radio about a cashier check scam and said, "DON'T DO IT!"

I called Brian and he didn't really believe me or Don. So, I did some research and sure enough... found this on snopes.com

Praise the Lord my boss listens to NPR!

Geez! I'm so glad you didn't do that! I'll pray that Brian sells his car and that the repairs to yours don't cost too much.
