Land of the Free and Home of the Brave

We had a great 4th of July! Though I wish I could have had one or ten more days off of work, the one day was a good one.

For Ethan's 2nd Independence Day we decided to go to the pool. With all the rain we have not been to the pool at all this summer. Yesterday was our first day of no rain since June 7th...at least at our house. Other parts of T-town enjoyed a sprinkle or two. Our neighbors, Amy and Wiley, went with us. Ethan and Wiley are 10 months apart and at the stage that they love to be together. In fact, when we pull into our driveway Ethan loks out the window, points to their house and says, "ILEY!" Anyway, at the pool, in the kiddie pool of course, splashing and havin' fun. We decided to go over to the big pool.

The big pool has a water slide that Ethan was determined to ride. So we borrowed a life jacket (floaties are no longer allowed) from the pool and headed up the stairs. Fearless Ethan practically jumped out of my arms and onto the slide. He flew down, and I say flew because he went SO fast, and Brian caught him. He giggled and laughed and was ready for more. One little boy commented about Ethan being fearless. He said, "My brother is to scared to go down the slide and he's 5!!"

After 5 or 6 times down the slide we decided to go home and get cleaned up for dinner. We headed over to Brian's Dad's house. He and Teresa cooked out and I brought Paula Deen's mac and cheese. Brian shot off some fireworks as we watched.

Ethan enjoyed the Snap-Pops. He would throw one and ask for more.

Then we went to Liberty to see more fireworks.

It was a great day!

Lauren, Ethan is so cute! He is so stout, he is going to be a good football player! Sam is tall and skinny, he is going through a picky eating stage. We should get together for a play date. I bet they would love to play together!
