Here at the office I am in charge of booking promotions. You know, the people you see at the store passing out samples and such, I book them. Well...not all of them. We generally do not do the food and beverage type sampling.
One particular promotion I booked is now running. It runs for 6 weeks, 2 nights a week for 4 hours. I had two people back out two days before it started. I found one person to take over one cluster and I took the other cluster. It's only 4 hour shifts, 2 days a week and pays really good money.
Needless to say, the last week or so, I've spent a LOT of time in Wal-Mart.
People spend a lot of time in the store. I mean A LOT. A man last night was there when I started my shift and still there when I left. Seriously? And without a basket or anything to purchase. Is this small town of Hickville, Oklahoma that dull? "Welp, I ain't got much ter do, guess I'll down to the Wal-Mart and fiddle round for uhwhile." And I can only assume that since we wore a green shirt with jeans and a cowboy hat not a blue shirt and khaki pants he was not an employee.
Speaking of employees, they laugh at me. I'm not sure why. One lady in the department giggles every time she passes me. This is always very reassuring and great for myself esteem. Awesome.
There is a young male employee who I think I make nervous. Must be my striking beauty. Or not. Last week I thought he was just shy. He wouldn't make eye contact with me and hung his head as he passed. Yesterday he roamed the area talking to himself for a good hour and acted nervous if I looked in his direction.
I've also noticed all the time employees have on their hands. I am stationed in a certain area, but when traffic is slow I walk through electronics. There is always one, if not two, employees playing video games. I'm sure they are on their breaks or whatever. But they like their games.
Then there are the shoppers. I see a lot of cowboys. Some with teeth. A lot of cowboys wives who don't like other women to talk to their cowboys.
A lot of spandex. A lot of spandex on poeple who should not wear spandex.
One man wore what I think was his bathing suit yesterday. It had dolphins on it. But you've got to give him credit. He DID have on a shirt.
I'm sure I'll have more to talk about as then next 5 weeks progress. That's all for today. Have a great day!
WOOHOO for no work on Monday!!
