Tomorrow is the first day of September and I am thrilled. I'd like to say that September brings cooler whether but anyone from around here knows that's not true.
I am thrilled for Labor Day weekend. Tomorrow I am hosting a shower/bachelorette party for Lacey. I have a lot to do between now and then.
Tonight I plan on getting my house cleaned. Or at least clean the parts that will be seen. I'm going to dust and vacuum then shampoo the carpet. The carpet in the living room is in drastic need of a good cleaning. I thought having a dog and husband were bad. Adding the child made more stains appear almost instantly. Though the stain that bothers me most is the gigantic Dr. Pepper stain. Someone was watching tv, spilled their full cup of DP and rather than doing anything sat there and let it dry. So, no matter how many times I spot clean the dumb thing it always reappears.
It reminds me of a movie I watched over and over as a child called "The Canterville Ghost". Ever seen it? This family buys a house that is haunted. There is blood in the study that no matter how many times they clean it up it always reappears. While in the movie the ghost makes it reappear, I think the DP keeps reappearing because someone was lazy and ruined my carpet. But whatever.
Tomorrow I plan to scour my kitchen, sweep and mop the floors. I may even wipe down the walls. Having company over always motivates me to clean. Maybe I should have guests more often.
Brian and I have made Sundays our official day of rest. I still make dinner and do dishes but everything else is put on hold. It is becoming my new favorite day of the week.
Monday I am off work (hooray) and our girls have their first football game!!
Next week is jam-packed. I'm just hoping to get through it. Pray for me.
HAPPY LABOR DAY!
