Dinner Possible

I meant to put a roast in the crockpot this morning before work. I got half-way out of the neighbohood and realized I was already too late to turn around. So for dinner tongiht I had to improvise.

I decided I was in the mood for chicken. There are 2 grocery stores on the way to my house from work. Neither of which is my normal grocery store. But in order to go there I have to pass my house and really...I hate that. One of the 2 is the new Food Pyramid that has taken over Albertson's. I rarely shopped at Albertson's because they were so much higher in price. On my first trip to Food Pryamid I didn't enjoy my experience so I haven't been back. Today I decided to go to SuperTarget for my last minute dinner needs.

On the shopping list:
boneless chicken breasts
2 avocados
1 lime
1 tomato
chips
salsa

I started in the produce section and picked out the perfect 2 avocados for one freakin' dollar and 79 cents EACH! But they were beautiful. Then I found the biggest lime ever and a nice tomato. Onto the chicken.

I have never been hugely impressed by the meat and poultry at Target. Today was no exception. The only chicken they carry is "All Natural" chicken and I'm pretty sure it's just so they can charge more. Normally I would buy the pack that has 5 or 6 chicken breasts but I couldn't bring myself to pay the $9.99 for chicken. I opted for the 3 breasts for $6.00 instead. Granted buying more would save in the long run. Note to self: next time chicken is on the list go to my normal store.

Needless to say, I spent $20.09 for a dinner menu that I could have paid $10.00 for at my store. Oh well, it will stay taste the same.

Our neighbors moved to Florida this weekend. We are all very sad. Ethan loved to play with Wiley. Everytime we pull in the driveway he starts talking about Wiley. The new neighbors are actually friends of theirs. At least they left us with good neighbors like they were.

I think I may make BooMama's mama's pound cake and take it over to them. Although I may have to bake it in two pans so I can keep one. I mean, why go to all the trouble to make a pound cake if you can't taste it? Exactly.

And...Ethan can count to ten. It's a proud mama moment. He as been couning for a while but now it is very consistent. If he could just remember number 4.

You'll have to tell me about your food pyramid experience. I was meaning to try it out.

I have been floating around without a regular grocery store for ages. It's a sad feeling.

I'm so proud of the counting!!! Don't worry about number 4. Karson still refers to 17 as "eleventeen". We don't know where she got it, but it is quite consisitent. I think it will make me sad when she corrects it.
