Happy 2008!

We spent New Year's Eve curled up on the couch flipping channels between the Big Ball and the lunatic on a motorcycle in Vegas. As usual, I was asleep before midnight and shortly after the ball dropped Brian woke me up to go to bed. While not eventful and exciting it was great way for us to ring in the new year.

We both had off on Tuesday and thought about going to a movie. But after scoping out times and choosing what to see we decided an On Demand movie might be more fun. We ordered Ocean's 13 and decided to go to the movies on Wednesday instead. I thought Ocean's 13 was really good. Better than twelve but not as good as 11.

Wednesday rolled around and I got a babysitter...known as Aunt Paige and off we went. We have never been to an IMAX movie so thought I Am Legend would be a good choice to see in the IMAX theater. Looking back any OTHER movie would have been good to see. This one- not so much. I thought it was awful. The previews looked good but left out the whole infectious zombie part. Hi, my name is Lauren and I don't do zombies. I left the theater several times, screamed out loud and cried. All in the same movie. It grossed me out so much I started feeling nauseous. And the minute it was over I felt better. I took a sleeping aid last night and still didn't sleep well. I give this movie a negative 5 stars. But who knows- you may like it.

Well, that's all for today. Hopefully tonight does not include any zombies.

Our New Year's was pretty much just as eventful, except we were BOTH in bed about thirty minutes before the ball dropped. Oh well. I needed the sleep. Good to know about I AM LEGEND. I thought the previews looked good, but I, as well, do not do zombies...or anything particularly scary for that matter. I just don't get it. I could stomach it a little before the girls were born, but since I had them, I just get really sad and really offended by those movies. I watched 13 Ghosts one time and couldn't stop seeing those stupid ghosts all around the house. I reverted back to the 7 year old version of myself who cried myself to sleep on the floor next to my parents' bed after watching IT at a slumber party. I'd much prefer a comedy any day.

Can't wait to get together with you, Sarah, and the kiddos. Just let me know what you guys decide! Like I said, you're welcome to come play here. It's toy central. Grandmas!
