In case you hadn't heard...

Well, it's official now that the Highsteppers know. And even though all 4 of you already know I can now proclaim it freely. I am pregnant! And sick as a dog. Now I can finally write about being sick and everyone will feel sorry for me. Just kidding. You don't have to feel sorry for me. Really. My mom feels badly enough. She's been there, done that. In fact, I'm really not sure why she didn't stop after me.

ANYWAY...

I told Christy weeks ago about being pregnant and that I wasn't ready to tell the girls. She (and Brian) thought I was being silly, but agreed not to say anything. I told her it was my intention to wait until
1. I was showing
or
2. I was so sick it affected me at practice and I couldn't hide it.

Tuesday morning I rolled into practice with sweats and a red splotchy face.

(I popped so many tiny blood vessels it looked like someone had dotted all over my face with a red pen. And my eyes were swollen from all the throwing up.)

My captain looked at me at one point, a look of pity, and said, "Are you okay?" I decided I had to tell them.

I spent the next two days in bed. My mom came to help and wait on me. Brian has been very helpful the last few days and cleaned the house. Ethan, God love him, wants nothing more than to cuddle and be right in my face. He's also been sick and on a steroid that makes him a little...wild. And not sleep well.

So far this pregnancy has been much harder than the first and I'm only 9 weeks (tomorrow). And I am counting. I am praying this will disappear at my second trimester just like the first time.

Now, thanks to the care from my mom and husband and a dose of Phenergan, I'm alive. At work. And eating.

YAHOO for new life and BOO for all the sickness!!! Good thing you've got family close and that Brian is such a good caretaker. Joel & I (and the girls) are super excited for you and can't wait to hear how things progress. Hopefully the nausea will go away... like, NOW. Take care of yourself and know we are praying for you! Love & Hugs!

Congratulations!!! I was so excited to hear the news. Word travels fast ya know in the family. :) That is awesome and we are so thrilled and excited for you, Brian, and Ethan...and the whole family! What a blessing. Hope you feel better. I was pretty sick the first 2 months, but it went away a whole lot quicker with this pregnancy. I feel ya hunny! Get some rest. Look forward to hearing more about it. We find out next Tuesday, well Election day to be exact, whether we are having a boy or another girl.
Blessings to you and your sweet baby today. We love you
