Holiday Cooking- Blogger Style

Last year I posted a few holiday recipes for the Holiday Cooking Recipe Exchange.

This year I thought I'd share some candy recipes. My mom, sister and I try to set a day each holiday season to make candy, cookies- all sorts of yummies. We make enough to give to friends- or eat ourselves- whatever.

One of my favorites is Peppermint Bark.

Ingredients:
  1. Half a brick of vanilla almond bark, chopped into squares
  2. 5-6 Candy Canes, chopped or hammered (you can use more or less depending on how much crunch you like)

You should probably use a double boiler but I try to cut time as much as possible. In a microwavable bowl, melt almond bark squares. Microwave for 30 seconds at a time and stir frequently. Do not overheat.

Once completely melted, stir in candy canes.

Pour onto a cookie sheet covered with wax paper and allow to cool completely. Break into pieces and share! Or not.

One more...

White Chocolate Cashew Clusters
<
The other half of your vanilla almond bark

One can of cashews (whole or halves)

Melt almond bark stirring frequently. Stir in cashews. Spoon onto wax paper and allow to cool and harden.

Enjoy!

Lauren, both of these candy recipes sound fabulous! I may make some of them to give away as Christmas gifts in a holiday tin.

Thanks for participating in my 3rd annual Holiday Cooking, Blogger Style recipe exchange! I do appreciate it.

Feel free to join me Fridays for my “Favorite Ingredients Friday” recipe exchange!
